220 kV GIS Installation and Commissioning at GAIL INDIA Alibag Mumbai
Polite Powertech Pvt. Ltd. successfully executed the installation of a 220 kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) for GAIL India Ltd. at Alibag, Mumbai. This project was a part of GAIL’s strategic initiative to strengthen its high-voltage power infrastructure, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted power supply to its critical operations.
The scope of the project included:
- Complete erection of 220 kV GIS equipment, including circuit breakers, disconnectors, current transformers, potential transformers, and control & protection panels
- Complete erection of all auxiliary packages like Battery system, Battery charger, LT Switchgear etc
- Complete installation of 4 numbers of Power transformer with highest capacity of 174 MVA.
- High-voltage cable terminations, interconnections, and integration with auxiliary systems
- Testing and commissioning of GIS modules, ensuring compliance with IEC standards and OEM specifications
- System integration with SCADA and protection schemes to enable efficient and real-time operational monitoring
- Adherence to highest safety standards and project execution within the stipulated timeline
